Former New York Red Bulls forward Jean Philippe Peguero suffered a knee injury after scoring for his new club, Brondby, in its 3-0 Danish First Division win Sunday.
The Brondby club website reported that the 24-year-old Peguero would undergo further tests on Monday.
Peguero, transferred to Brondby for a reported $700,000 last month, reportedly could be out of action from 6-10 months, according to www.haitiwebs.com. Initial reports indicated that he suffered a torn cruciate ligament.
Peugero was on the receiving end of a brutal tackle as he scored off a volley. He was taken off the field on the stretcher.
