December 11, 2009 STANDING TALL 4 Adelphi men on All-North Atlantic team
Four members of the Adelphi University men's team received North Atlantic All-Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Freshman Issa Tall (Mulhouse, France) was named first team All-Region, while senior Kevin Gluchowski (Carmel, N.Y.), and juniors Thorne Holder (Port of Spain, Trinidad) and Alexander Kouznetsov (Vaxjo, Sweden) were named third-team All-Region.
Tall, who was a unanimous selection for Atlantic Soccer Conference player of the year, led the league with 16 goals in 18 games. Tall ranks second nationally with 0.88 goals per game and was also named ASC player of the week four times. He also was nominated for Soccer News Net player of the year award as he was BigAppleSoccer.com's player of the week twice.
Gluchowski finished his career with the Panthers by being named second team All-ASC as well as earning a spot on the All-ASC Academic Team. For his three goals in the conference tournament, Gluchowski was named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week. Holder and Kouznetsov also received All-ASC honors, as they were named First-Team All-Conference. Holder posted a 0.70 goals against average to go along with a .839 save percentage, while Kouznetsov tallied three goals and one game-winner.
The Panthers captured the the ASC regular season and tournament championships on their way to posting a 13-2-4 record.
