Baruch edges Medgar Evers men, 2-1

Baruch College defeated Medgar Evers College, 2-1, in a non-conference contest at Randall's Island Field #10 Monday night.

The Bearcats opened the scoring in the 13th minute with Jaime Zurro beating the goalkeeper one-on-one after a well-placed through ball from Colby Aranibar.

Oshae Miller increased the lead four minutes into the second half after a Zurro through ball split the defense to find Miller alone to score.

The Cougars sliced the lead in half on an own goal with three minutes left and kept pressuring for the tying goal, but the Bearcats shut them down.

The Bearcats outshot the Cougars, 17-7, and forced the Cougars goalkeeper to make eight saves.

The Bearcats will return in a University of New York Athletic Conference road match against John Jay College of Criminal Justice at Randall's Island Field #75 Wednesday at 4 p.m.
