Hofstra's Mulholland earns NSCAA 3rd team honors
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Hofstra University senior Jill Mulholland was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America third team, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.
A health and physical education major, Mulholland served as a leader both on and off the field for the Pride, carrying a 3.72 cumulative grade-point average in the classroom while serving as a team captain.
She led the Pride this season with 13 goals and eight assists for 34 points, finishing in the program top 10 in career and single-season goals, assists and points and earning a spot on the NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team and the All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team. Six of her goals this season were game-winners, and she posted at least three points on six occasions, including a goal and an assist in a 2-1 win over eventual conference champion Northeastern.
Mulholland finished with 30 career goals and 18 assists for 68 points in 71 games played. She has earned three All-CAA First Team honors, was the 2012 CAA rookie of the year and was named an ECAC all-star in 2015.
The Levittown, N.Y. native adds her NSCAA All-America honor to her Colonial Athletic Association All-Academic Team and CoSIDA Academic All-District Team selections.
