St. John's blanked at home by Hall, 1-0

QUEENS, N.Y. – On a Thursday night in which all five St. John's seniors took the field at Belson Stadium for the final time, the hosts dropped a 1-0 Big East East decision to Seton Hall at Belson Stadium.

Goalkeeper Jordan Stagmiller made four saves for the Red Storm (4-10-4, 1-7-1), which honored seniors Marco Bordon, Daniel Herrera, Casey Osborne, Tim Parker and Jordan Rouse in a pregame ceremony.

Andrew LoManto scored the game-winner for Seton Hall (5-7-5, 2-4-3) in the 56th minute while Julian Spindler made three saves for the shutout.

“This was a difficult season for us, but our guys played with a lot of pride and showed a lot of character throughout, and I am proud of that,” St. John's head coach Dr. Dave Masur said. “They always stayed together and they continued to work hard and prepare themselves. We played a lot of tight games this year and the ball never seemed to bounce our way, but they fought from beginning to end.”

The Pirates scored on a counter-attack 11 minutes into the second half. Victor Manosalvas led the attack before dishing off to Samuel Geiler, who took the ball in towards the right edge of the box. Geiler sent a ball through traffic and towards the far post for LoManto, who tucked a shot into the back of the net.
