In wake of Mike Petke's sacking as Red Bulls coach, Bruce DiBisceglie has penned a poem entitled, The Red is Dead.

Mike Petke bled RED with the fans,
He told us ‘Revenge Was Coming,’ with all of his heart.
His heart bled RED for us.
But Austria has decided that we don’t need his RED anymore.

I used to waive a RED & White Flag in the South Ward.
But the RED is dead.
Without the RED, those Flags are now solid White.
The Flag of Surrender.

Thierry Henry brought back the Black & RED to the Armband.
But the RED is dead.
Without the RED, those Armbands are now solid Black.
The Armband of Mourning Death.

Austria changed our Name to Red Bull
But the RED is dead.
Without the RED, we are only left with Bull.
The Bull from Austria.

The RED is dead, long live Green.
Green, the color of money.
Green, the color of the New York Cosmos.
Green, the color of my money that I will be spending the NY Cosmos.

Thank you Mike for your RED.
You told us ‘As Long as We’re Breathing’, with all of your heart.
Our heart bleeds RED for you.
And now the fans have decided that we don’t need Austria anymore.
