A look at the upcoming game

LA Galaxy (4-3-2, 14 pts) @ Philadelphia Union (4-3-3, 15 pts), 7:30 pm ET (TWCSN-LA, CSN-Phi)
The LA Galaxy bring a two-game losing streak into PPL Park for Wednesday’s road match against the suddenly sturdy Philadelphia Union. Neither team played particularly well their last time out. Goalkeeper Zac MacMath made six saves to keep the Union in the game against the Chicago Fire on Saturday, and Jack McInerney capitalized on Sebastien Le Toux’s hurry-up free kick in the 75th minute to snatch the game-winning goal and the lead in the MLS Golden Boot race with his seventh goal of the season. The Galaxy were off their game at both ends of the field last Saturday, suffering their first-ever loss to Vancouver by a 3-1 score. The Whitecaps consistently exploited a Galaxy backline missing the veteran presence of injured Todd Dunivant, and although LA’s Robbie Keane-less offense controlled the ball for significant stretches, there were few serious LA scoring chances. Rookie Gyasi Zardes’ 86th-minute goal was one of only two Galaxy shots on goal. Keane plans to be available for Wednesday’s match after recovering from a sprained ankle.
