Welsh lifts Freedom in W-League
Massapequa, L.I. native and striker Christie Welsh and the Washington Freedom took out their frustration from a hard fought semifinal loss on Thursday night to cruise to an easy 2-0 victory over the Seattle Sounders in the third-place match of the W-League playoffs Saturday night.

Welsh, Freedom lose in W-League semis
Massapequa, L.I. native Christie Welsh and her Washington Freedom teammates won't be repeating as W-League champions. The Freedom lost to the Pali Blues in the W-League semifinals Thursday night, 2-0. Danesha Adams scored two goals for the Blues at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.
