Multiple team sources have confirmed to that the Red Bulls have signed Rodrigo Leite, also known as Dig„o.

The Brazilian 27-year-old center back is the brother of Kaka, who was strongly linked to making a move to New York this summer.

Dig„o has been with the Red Bulls on trial since last week and impressed head coach Hans Backe with his physical prowess and ability to play technically out of the backline. He had a fitness test on Tuesday and did enough to earn a contract.

The property of A.C. Milan since 2005, Dig„o has played for the club just once and has spent loan spells with clubs in Italy and Portugal.

The source said that he believed the contract to be for the rest of the season.
