HARRISON, N.J. -- He enters his final year of his contract with the Red Bulls this season, but Thierry Henry says he doesn't know if it will be his final season in professional soccer.
"We're going to see what's going to happen during the season," Henry said at Red Bull Arena during MLS media day Monday afternoon. "I'm not even thinking about it, anything after. I just want to have a strong season like we had towards the end and build on like that and carry on like that.
"I'm not going to think about if it's going to be the last one or not. I don't even have that on my mind right now."
A former French international, the 36-year-old Henry signed a 4 1/2-year contract with the Red Bulls during the summer of 2010. Last year he helped the Red Bulls to the Supporters Shield, the club's first bit of hardware in its 18-year history.
At the club level, Henry made his name with Arsenal in the English Premier League. He is the team's all-time goal-scorer and is beloved by the fans.
So, it certainly wouldn't be surprising if Henry would return to the north London club someday in some capacity.
"Hopefully. I always said it, if it does happen one day, I'll be more than happy to help,” he said. “I still have one more year here and I want to enjoy that and do it well. After whatever happens, will happen. As you guys know, I think a lot for Arsenal. So if does happen, I would love it to happen with Arsenal. ... Right now it's difficult to see what's going to happen in the future. I'm not even thinking about it. We'll see. I just want to enjoy the season."
