Red Bulls midfielder-forward Derrick Etienne Jr. scored his first international goal in Haiti's 4-3 extratime victory over Trinidad and Tobago Sunday.

The first half goal helped to level the score after Trinidad and Tobago had scored early, needing a two-goal victory to advance.

Etienne Jr., who played mostly for Red Bulls II in the United Soccer League last season, scored off a quick restart after a foul on the left side of the penalty area.

The ball was played into an unmarked Etienne, who curled it around the diving goalkeeper into the far corner of the net.

Etienne Jr.'s goal and Haiti's win helped the Caribbean side qualify for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July.

His father, Derrick, scored several goals while playing internationally for Haiti.

Red Bull Arena will host the opening doubleheader of the Gold Cup on Friday, July 7.
