The Red Bulls hit the woodwork twice in a 1-0 defeat to Real Salt Lake in a preseason game at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Ariz. Tuesday afternoon.

Jordan Allen tallied the lone goal of the match in the 83rd minute for RSL as he headed home a left-wing cross from six yards.

Alex Muyl hit the crossbar in the second minute for the Red Bulls (1-1) while trialist Davide Somma, on a shot off the top of the penalty arc, rebounded his attempt off the right post in the 69th minute.

Joao Plata's shot caromed off the same post in the 33rd minute.

The goal came in the 81st minute, with Jordan Allen heading home a cross from the wing

The Red Bulls started with nine of the same players that played in Friday’s match, a 2-0 victory over the Portland Timbers. The two changes came at the outside back position, with Justin Bilyeu starting in place of Kemar Lawrence, and Sal Zizzo getting the nod in place of 2017 MLS SuperDraft pick Ethan Kutler.

Unlike Friday night, the teams played two 45-minute halves.

Homegrown goalkeeper Evan Louro made his preseason debut in the match, playing the final 30 minutes.

Newly signed center back Hassan Ndam entered the match in the 60th minute. Hassan arrived at Red Bulls camp late Monday night after the Red Bulls completed his transfer from Cameroonian club Rainbow FC.

The Red Bulls next will be in action against Sacramento Republic FC Feb. 10 before returning to Tucson, Ariz. to face New York City FC in the Desert Diamond Cup Feb. 15.
