Red Bulls reserves rally to tie Dynamo, 2-2

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Second-half substitute Omir Fernandez helped rally the New York Red Bulls to a 2-2 draw with the Houston Dynamo in the Desert Diamond Cup Wednesday.

The Dynamo took a 2-0 halftime lead as Mauro Manotas finished an Andrew Wenger cross at the back post in the 35th minute and Jalil Anibaba headed in a 41st-minute free kick.

The Red Bullsí starting lineup included two players under MLS contract, plus SuperDraft pick Zeiko Lewis, four trialists, three USL players and an Academy player. Fernandez, a Red Bulls Academy player, replaced Bradley Nestor after halftime. Fernandez capitalized on a misplayed back pass to score in the 65th minute, then his 72nd-minute shot off the post was converted by Lucas Terci.
