TWO IN A ROW
Sky Blue's Kerr connects for Perth winner
Perth Glory won its second consecutive match last weekend in Westfield W-League play, defeating Sydney FC, 1-0, as Sky Blue FC's Sam Kerr scored the game-winning goal.
In the 18th minute Kerr gathered possession in the midfield before passing the ball Shawn Billam and making a run towards the Perth goal. Billam dribbled the center of the Sydney defense and booted a hard roller to Rosie Sutton on top of the penalty area. Kerr was finishing a run through the middle of the box. Sutton fed her into space just outside the right post as the Australian international ran onto the ball and one-timed a strike that curled over the goalkeeper and hit the right-side netting.
Kerr continued to wreak havoc on Sydney, creating multiple opportunities and coming up just inches short of adding to her goal total on the day.
Perth improved to 10 points and is two points shy of the top of the W-League ladder.
