Kerr has extended her league-leading goal total to seven, three more than her closest rival. Perth (5-1-1), win recoreded its fourth consecutive win, moved into first place.
It was the Australian international's second successive brace.
After a scoreless first half, Rosie Sutton put the first goal of the match on the board for Perth in the 47th minute, only to see Jessica Fishlock level the count for Melbourne City in the 60th minute. Melbourne City grabbed a 2-1 advantage via an Aivi Luik tally in the 72nd minute, setting up a ferocious finish by Perth and Kerr in particular.
In the 77th minute, Kerr equalized when she slotted a Sutton feed under goalkeeper Lydia Williams. She lifted Perth into the lead after receiving the ball from Alyssa Mautz on the left side of the penalty area in the 84th minute. Kerr sent a brilliant chip over the head of Williams, and her attempt hit the far post before redirecting into the net for the game-winner.
