Orozco replaces Miazga on USMNT roster for Iceland

CHICAGO - With Red Bulls center back Matt Miazga having left U.S. national team camp to take a physical to join Chelsea, veteran defender Michael Orozco was added to the USA roster for its international friendly against Iceland Sunday.

Orozco will be available for training Friday and return to Club Tijuana Sunday evening. He has been recovering from an ankle injury suffered during preseason which sidelined him for the first three games of the Liga MX season. He recently returned to full fitness.

Orozco has appeared 20 times for the USA, including seven games in 2015. He scored the game-winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Mexico on Aug. 15, 2012, delivering the Americans' their first win against Mexico on Mexican soil.

The camp, which runs from Jan. 11-Feb. 6 and contains a mix of senior team members and a host of players age-eligible for the Under-23 MNT, will culminate with friendlies against Iceland Sunday and Canada on Feb. 5 at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.
