HAVANA BOUND
USMNT to play in Cuba Oct. 7

CHICAGO - For the first time since 1947, the national teams of the United States and Cuba will play an international friendly.

The game in Havana will take place Oct. 7 at Estadio Pedro Marrero. The match will be broadcast live on the ESPN and Univision Networks, with kickoff time still to be finalized.

This is only the USA's second visit to Cuba in the last 69 years, having recorded a 1-0 win on Sept. 6, 2008 , during the semifinal round of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup.

"We are happy to have the chance to bring our team to Cuba," U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann said in a statement. "In addition to good competition, we are always looking for our group to have different experiences, and this is a unique opportunity."
