Will it be Raul vs. David Villa when the Cosmos meet New York City FC in the Lamar Hunt/U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday?

Maybe, maybe not.

Cosmos coach Giovanni Savarese said that his former Spanish star striker will be uniform and be raring to go for the hosts at Shuart Stadium in Hempstead, N.Y. at 7:30 p.m. that night.

"Raul is a very important player for us and he will be playing for sure," Savarese said during a Monday afternoon conference call with the media.

Savarese said that he realize many fans and observers see the Cosmos-NYC FC confrontation as a Raul vs. Villa situation. They have played against each other before in La Liga in Spain.

He added that many people felt that "this is a Raul vs. Villa match. As a coach I feel differently because I think they have more than one player on the team as we have more than one player on our team.

"We are looking at this game as a very serious match. We take this cup very seriously. We're going to play the players we think can execute the best plans of this game."
