MSG+ to televise Red Bulls vs. Cosmos

By Kristian R. Dyer Contribuiting Eitor

For the first time in the franchise's history, a Lamar Hunt/U.S. Open Cup game will be aired on MSG Network when it tells the Red Bulls-Cosmos encounter from Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J.

MSG is the regional sports network that has aired Red Bulls matches since their inception as the New York/New Jersey MetroStars in 1996.

The broadcast will begin with a pregame show at 7 p.m. followed then by a broadcast of the match, in its entirety, on MSG. It is the same level of coverage that MSG provides for regular-season Major League Soccer matches.

The deal wasn't finalized until Monday, meaning that MSG was unable to promote the match this past Wednesday when it aired the Red Bulls against Real Salt Lake. It would have been an ideal platform to get word out about the Open Cup broadcast.
