Open Cup draw: Red Bulls at Philly, Cosmos host Revs

CHICAGO -- The Red Bulls and the Cosmos will have to wait another round before they can clash again in the Lamar Hunt/U.S. Open Cup.

The teams were paired against other sides in the East Region in the fifth round of the competition in Thursday afternoon's draw by U.S. Soccer.

The Red Bulls will play at the Philadelphia Union at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Pa. on June 29 at 7 p.m.

The Cosmos will host the New England Revolution at Belson Stadium at St. John's University at June 29 at 7:30 p.m.

The winners will meet in the quarterfinals.

“We knew we would be facing a difficult opponent before the draw," Cosmos head coach Giovanni Savarese said. "Now that we know we will play against New England we must prepare ourselves for a challenging match. We are committed to the Open Cup and feel determined to make it to the next round.”

The Cosmos booked a spot in the fifth round by defeating New York City FC at Fordham University Wednesday night, 1-0, on Danny Szetela's late goal.

The Red Bulls advanced by securing a 1-0 victory over the host Rochester Rhinos on Sacha Kljestan's 20th-minute penalty kick.
