USWNT set for Colombia rematch

CHICAGO -- The U.S. Women's National Team will face Colombia at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Pa., at 2 p.m. ET Sunday, April 10. The teams will also meet at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford, Conn., at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday, April 6.

The match will mark the fifth time the U.S. has played at Talen Energy Stadium (formerly PPL Park, home of MLS's Philadelphia Union), 30 miles from the Delran, N.J., hometown of U.S. co-captain Carli Lloyd. The USA also played there in 2010, 2012 and twice in 2014 during the Women's World Cup Qualifying tournament.

The USA and Colombia met in the Round of 16 at the 2015 Women's World Cup, the U.S. prevailing, 2-0, in Edmonton on goals from Alex Morgan and Lloyd.

Colombia, ranked 25th in the world and second in South America behind Brazil, played well at the World Cup, drawing, 1-1, with Mexico, defeating France, 2-0, then falling to eventual third-place finisher England by a 2-1 score to complete group play. The four points were enough to earn Colombia a Round of 16 match with the USA.

The USA is coming off a successful run at the 2016 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Championship, winning all five games by shutout and scoring 22 goals. The USA defeated Trinidad & Tobago, 5-0, in the semifinal to earn a berth in the 2016 Olympics, then took the tournament title with a 2-0 victory against Canada.

The Colombia matches will be the first games after the USA hosts England, France and Germany in the SheBelieves Cup, as four of the world's top five teams will compete in doubleheaders March 3 in Tampa, Fla., March 6 in Nashville, Tenn., and March 9 in Boca Raton, Fla.

The USA and Colombia have played each other three times, all in world championship play. The USA defeated Colombia, 3-0, in group play at the 2011 Women's World Cup, 3-0 in group play at the 2012 Olympics and 2-0 in the Round of 16 at the 2015 Women's World Cup.
