USWNT sets post-Olympic Games dates
CHICAGO -- The U.S. women's national team will meet Thailand and the Netherlands in its first two matches following the Olympic Games, U.S. Soccer announced Wednesday.
The U.S. will meet Thailand at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, Thursday, Sept. 15 and the Netherlands at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta Sunday, Sept. 18. Kickoff times and broadcast information have yet to be confirmed.
Thailand, which made its debut on the international stage at the 2015 Women's World Cup, will be the 50th country the U.S. has faced.
The USA has played the Netherlands six times, the first meeting in Vianen in 1991, the only win for the Dutch, by a 4-3 score. The USA has won five consecutive meetings with the Dutch, the most recent a 3-1 victory in The Hague in April 2013.
The USA has a 14-0-1 in 2016 heading into an Olympic Games Group G opener against New Zealand at Estadio Mineirão in Belo Horizonte at 6 p.m. ET Thursday (NBCSN).
The most recent U.S. game at MAPFRE Stadium was a 1-1 draw with New Zealand in October 2013.
The USA has played in the City of Atlanta once, an 8-0 win over Russia at the Georgia Dome in February 2014. A grass surface is set to be installed for this match.
