U.S. YOUTH NATIONAL TEAMS

FOUR FOR BRADENTON
4 area players in U.S. U-17 residency


Four area players have been named to the U.S. Under-17 men's national team spring semester roster.

They will train and go to school under the U.S. Soccer residency program in Bradenton, Fla.

Among the 28 players selected were:

* Goalkeeper Kevin Silva (PDA).

* Defenders Tyler Adams (Red Bulls Academy) and Matthew Olosunde (Red Bulls Academy)

* Midfielder Thomas McCabe (PDA)

“This is an important semester for us and an important year for this cycle,” U.S. U-17 head coach Richie Williams said in a statement. “With World Cup qualifying at the beginning of March, it will be important for us to continue training well and performing well. We also need to find a balance with this group and some of the players who are not with us on a regular basis to form a 20-man roster that will head to qualifying to compete and get results.”

The roster:

GOALKEEPERS (3): Eric Lopez (LA Galaxy), Will Pulisic (Richmond United), Kevin Silva (PDA).

DEFENDERS (9): Tyler Adams (Red Bulls Academy), Hugo Arellano (LA Galaxy Academy), Matthew Constant (Dallas Texans), Nikkye De Point (Revolution Empire), Tanner Dieterich (Real Salt Lake AZ), John Nelson (Internationals), Matthew Olosunde (Red Bulls Academy), Logan Panchot (St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri), Alexis Velela (San Diego Surf).

MIDFIELDERS (8): Giuseppe Barone (Crew SC Academy Wolves), George Braima (Crew SC Academy), Eric Calvillo (Real So Cal), Keegan Kelly (Baltimore Celtic), Thomas McCabe (PDA), Luka Prpa (Chicago Magic PSG), Nick Taitague (Richmond United), Alejandro Zendejas (FC Dallas Academy).
