FC Westchester goes 3-0-2

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- FC Westchester had a good Sunday in U.S. Soccer Development Academy and Northeast Pre-Academy action vs. Met Oval Academy at Purchase College.

FCW's Under-18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy team beat Met Oval, 4-0, the U-16 Academy team tied Met Oval, 1-1, the U-14 and U-15 Pre-Academy sides both topped Met Oval by identical 6-0 scores and the U1-3 Pre-Academy team posted a 2-2 tie.

In the U-18 match, Cesar Ceja recorded a hat-trick. He scored two first-half goals, followed by a third goal midway through the second half. Tomas Penfold capped off the scoring with a tally in the 85th minute. Goalkeeper Abe Hannigan posted the clean sheet.

In the U1-6 match, Met Oval scored a first-half goal, but FC Westchester struck back midway through the second half when Stephen's Elias' free kick was headed in by Carlos Fabian Encina.

FCW's U.S. Soccer Development Academy teams return to action Saturday at Purchase College against Albertson Academy, with the U-18s kicking off at 12:30 p.m. and the U-16s starting their match at 3 p.m.
